What is an EPC

The format may be familiar, it uses a similar layout to the energy efficiency labels on home appliances.

It's a legal requirement to get an EPC whenever a house is built, sold or rented. Many of the government backed energy efficiency grants need an EPC to access funding too. Recently, we're starting to see a trend of lenders requesting EPCs as part of remortgaging too.

Every EPC lasts for 10 years. You may already have one. Take a look at the central EPC register to double check yours. Remember, it's only a legal requirement to have a valid EPC when selling or renting a property.

Why Do I Need An EPC?

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a legal requirement whenever a building is constructed, sold or rented. The idea is that it will give the buyers or tenants an accurate picture of its likely running costs.

How Do I Get An EPC?

How Long Does An EPC Last?

How to Improve Your EPC Score (MEES)

Every EPC we complete comes with specific recommendations for your building. If you need a little more help we can provide consultancy to get you to the score you need.

Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) are looming. Landlords will need to make sure their rented buildings are a certain score. Domestic properties are likely required to be a C Band and Commercials requiring a B Band!
